Bush Family=Cowards (can I add selfish to that?)

I came across this at Brother Tim's place, Blog of Revelation. He found it at Buzzflash. Read how not a single member of the Bush family (extended version),"...have volunteered for service in any branch of the military or volunteered to serve in any capacity in Iraq."
Not one of them has felt the cause was noble enough to put his or her life on the line.
Read this and explain to me how this family of criminals can claim to, "support the troops." Pleeze use small wurds so I can unnerstan.

Back when WWI and WWII age candidates were running for office, military service was nearly a requirement for election to national office. With the consecutive elections of Clinton (x2) and Bush II (x2) over veterans, sadly, they have made it that much easier for rich boys and girls (I know Clinton wasn't) to get elected without having to put their precious blue blood on the line.

The other thing is, the wars of the older generation are viewed as noble and true defense against aggressors. U.S. wars since have been imperialist exercises on our part, so we will get in the future a mixed bag of good people who didn't volunteer because they didn't agree with our imperialism, and privileged people who didn't serve because they wouldn't want to risk what Barbara Bush refers to as their "beautiful minds" on advancing the foul policies of their Poppies.

I would add that since about 1980 many have gone into the military as a job, a chance to afford college, a place to learn a marketable skill. For more than 20 years we were at peace; an entire generation saw the military as a way out of poverty. Since the mid-90's the shift in conservative opinion among the rank and file has changed dramatically. When I went in, most enlisted came from blue collar, union-y backgrounds and were likely to be Democrats. Today as we know, that is no longer the case. I could write a whole post on this...Thanks for your insights as always.
