On the recommendation of fellow blogger Jon Swift, I found and am sharing with you, the blog that "tells cute animals what's what," Fuck You Penguin. Here's Jon's take on FYP: "Who knew that existential despair could be so irresistibly, so heart-breakingly cute?" Here's a sample that made me chuckle:

Obviously, you must have known that uploading this picture of yourself onto the internet would single-handedly bring down the modern world. Moments after this baby updated its Facebook profile, millions of people stopped what they were doing to email this picture to everyone they knew. MANY OF THEM WERE GRANDMOTHERS, AARDVARK, WITH NO DEFENSE AGAINST YOUR POWERS. Have you no shame? We are already in a depression, Aardvark, what more do you want from us?

Miss Lulu has Arrived!

Weirdest thing, I swear. While waiting in the car for her flight to land, I was listening to NPR's "Fresh Air." The closing song on the show was--wait for it--Fat's Waller's "Lulu's Back in Town"

Frick and Frack Ride Again

Well almost. But first things first. Our 'son' Georg has weathered the trip, though is somewhat depressed and confused. He misses his 'sister' Lulu, our other rescued Jack Russell Terrier. Good news is that Miss Lu is on her way from Mississippi at the end of the week.

The old Southern couple will be reunited.

I plan on giving more details about my personal drama, as this blog has temporarily morphed into a personal digest, given the current situation in which I find myself. Thanks for hanging with me, It's most appreciated. Much love to you guys.

Dog and Cat Honored for Saving Their Humans

On a positive note:

When Debbie Parkhurst choked on a piece of apple at her Maryland home, her dog jumped in, landing hard on her chest and forcing the morsel to pop out of her throat. When the Keesling family of Indiana was about to be overcome by carbon monoxide, their cat clawed at wife Cathy's hair until she woke up and called for help.

Dog gets medal for saving kids

We have a Jack Russell named George and while this story isn't about our George, I still wanted to post it, sadness and all.

WELLINGTON (AFP) - Nine-year-old Jack Russell terrier George is being honoured with a posthumous bravery medal for saving five New Zealand children from an attack by two pitbulls.

The medal from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) comes after US Vietnam veteran Jerrell Hudman said he was sending his Purple Heart medal to George's owner after hearing of the dog's bravery.

Polar Hope

Possibily nope. The Polar Bear has just been put on the endangered species list. Someone inform Dubya that global warming is real. NPR did a story on this today as did the NYT. I'm too heartbroken to post the links. Please God, let us wake up before we destroy everything beautiful.
