Republican Ratfuckery

Palau over at Progressive Gold has posted a terrific piece on more GOP malfeasance:
A NY state Republican political thug ‘consultant’, Roger J. Stone Jr., is alleged to have been harassing the 83 year old father of the Democratic attorney general, Elliot Spitzer, with threatening late night phone calls - traceable directly back to aforesaid thug “consultant”.
The title of the article has also given me a terrific new tag for gooper wingnuttery:Modern Mobsterism, or Republican Ratfuckery or “Nice Family You Got there. Shame If Anything Happened to It…” Ratfuckery, indeed.

"Conquering The Drawbacks Of Democracy"

My friend Marc Lord at Adored by Hordes, has written a stunning piece directly addressing the wingnuttery of Philip Atkinson. Atkinson is the crazy responsible for the the article published and subsequently pulled, from the website Family Security Matters (see below post).

An example of Atkinson's 'work':"The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead.”

Marc has written a response to this madness, directly to Atkinson, and in the best snark possible:
No, Mr. Atkinson, the central problem with your proposal is not that it goes too far. Simply that it does not go far enough. I strongly suggest you lend your support to our Nuclear Die-Off Proposal (NDOP). Your talents of persuasion would be most welcomed, and I think you'll find an inviting and stimulating home for a classically minded intellect. Won't you join us?
Read Adored by Hordes and if so inclined, send your own response to this nutbag.

Family Security Matters: Make Bush President for Life

This story has since been removed from the Family Security Matters website. I want to know what wingnit Laura Ingram (she's on the board) has to say...The Newsvine posts the story.
If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

The Difference

The boys over at Sadly, No have posted a charming piece comparing and contrasting the 'difference' between the wingnut diehards and the nazis. Interesting.
The Nazis were bad because they used violence, racism and propaganda to fuel the persecution of an innocent minority group for no other reason than their ethnic and religious status. Ask us if torture is wrong: we’ll say of course it is, under all circumstances, because the use of savagely inhumane treatment against other human beings is something that should be opposed even if it were effective, which it isn’t. Ask us why we hope to prevail against terrorism, and we’ll say, once we finish eating our brisket taco, because we believe that democracy, freedom and justice are values worth preserving — the very basis of our national identity, and to be defended fiercely against anyone who would take them away, whether an internal or external threat. We’re always saying high-minding shit like that.

Ask a lot of folks on the right what was so bad about the Nazis, though, and it seems pretty likely they’d say “They directed their tactics at the wrong people.” Ask if torture is wrong, and they’ll say “only if the other side uses it.” Ask why they hope to prevail against terrorism, and they’ll say “because we’re America, and they’re not.” It’s as simple as different names for sides with a lot of these people, which saves them all the messy trouble of deciding how far is too far, what threat is a legitimate threat, and whether it’s possible to err by adopting the methods of your enemies. (The answers, for those of you who haven’t been watching the G.O.P. debates, are “none too far”, “all of them” and “no”.)

One of these things looks like the other...

The brilliant men of Sadly, No have gone to great lengths er, links to provide a shockingly funny and well informed view of the wingnut-o-sphere in all their glorious wingnuttery. Give it a look-see. These boys are on-fire.
Here's my contribution to their fabulous conflagration:

Derailed "Straight talk Express"

Which part of 'delusional liar' are Americans not understanding? John McLiar went to Iraq announced it was safe and when called on his bullshit, sics the wingnut bloggers on CNN reporter Mick Ware. The McCain and Lindsey 'Huckleberry' Graham "tour" was preceded by a security sweep and during their "stroll" were protected by over 100 soldiers, 3 Blackhawk helicopters, 2 Apache warships and they were both wearing bullet-proof vests. Sound safe to you? Huckleberry touted his shopping prowess by bragging about his 5-rugs-for-$5. Way to rip off the locals Huckleberry. If you haven't heard this yet, check Think Progress' round-up of McCain's nonsense. And by the way, snipers were back on duty today at the very market visited by The GOP numbnut liars last week.I do so hope this ends his presidential run.
